TishAbility

Integrated support for real lives

Person-centred support in everyday environments

TishAbility provides non-regulated support. We do not provide regulated personal care, nursing care, clinical treatment, medical treatment, domiciliary care as a regulated provider, standalone taxi or private hire services, statutory decision making, legal representation or emergency crisis response.

Where a person requires regulated care or clinical input, this must be provided by an appropriately registered provider or qualified professional. We help people access everyday life, community opportunities, therapeutic and wellbeing activities, communication, life skills, supported access and practical support in the environments where life actually happens.

Our work is built around listening to the person, listening to their family, respecting self-determination and helping support feel safe, meaningful and achievable in real life.

Support that works around real life

Recognising whole-person support

TishAbility brings support together around the person. We recognise that everyday life does not separate itself neatly into SEND, health and wellbeing, family life, community access, communication, education, sensory regulation, life skills and practical support.

People experience life as a whole, and support should be planned around that whole person. Our role is to help support become practical, joined up and meaningful in everyday environments.

Where support happens

This may include support at home, in the garden, in the community, around therapeutic or wellbeing activities, in education-related settings, and alongside partner organisations already involved in the person's life.

Where getting to and from an activity is part of making participation possible, this is treated as part of the wider support arrangement. The focus is not transport. The focus is enabling safe, meaningful access to everyday life.

Why TishAbility exists

Many families and individuals are given plans, recommendations, budgets or professional advice, but still struggle to make support work in real life.

A person may have recommendations from therapists, SEND professionals, health professionals, schools, social workers or commissioners, but those recommendations may not be meaningful unless they can be carried into daily routines, community settings, activities, family life and the environments the person actually uses.

TishAbility helps bridge that gap. We support people, families and support networks to move from written recommendations into practical, person-centred support that is realistic, safe, meaningful and linked to the person's life. Our work ensures access to social networks and social capital development, therapeutic opportunities, and reduces isolation for affected individuals and families.

Built on lived experience

We draw on the lived experience of supporting different-abled individuals, families and professionals who have navigated complex support systems. This experience informs every aspect of our approach and keeps us grounded in the real challenges families face.

No one-size-fits-all

We don't fit people into boxes. Every person is different, with unique communication, sensory, emotional and support needs. Our support is built dynamically around each individual, adapting and evolving as needs change. We are responsive to what works in practice, not wedded to rigid approaches.

Continuity and collaboration

Every member of the support network matters—without one person, the whole system can crumble. We prioritise continuity of care and reliable relationships as protective measures. We work alongside professionals, families and individuals, valuing what each brings. Together, we create more joined-up, consistent support.

Learning and practice evolution

We don't claim to know everything. We bring our knowledge and experience, and we continue to learn from other professionals, families and individuals using our services. Practice evolves as understanding deepens. Every interaction teaches us something that helps us improve.

We believe support should be built around the whole person: their wishes, their family context, their communication, their strengths, their needs and the environments where they live, learn and participate. Connection, participation and belonging are fundamental.
