SEND & Education Signposting

Practical administrative and signposting support around SEND, EHCP processes and education-related planning.

What Is SEND & Education Signposting?

We help families organise information, prepare questions, understand what information may be needed and signpost to appropriate services or professionals. This support is practical and administrative, not legal, tribunal, advocacy or professional education advice.

Education is about much more than school. We support the practical coordination and signposting around learning and development.

How We Support

  • EHCP Processes: Help understanding and navigating Education, Health & Care Plans, from initial assessment through annual reviews and review meetings and related preparation
  • Form Support: Practical help completing SEND documentation, applications and forms
  • School Liaison: Supporting communication between families and schools, coordination of support
  • Education Planning: Exploring education options, supporting transition between school phases
  • Signposting: Information about local services, specialist support and resources
  • Practical Support: Helping families prepare questions, gather information and document their child's needs

Education Budgets

We support families using Education Budgets in their EHCP, including:

  • Understanding how to access and use Education Budgets
  • Organising records and information linked to education-related support arrangements
  • Signposting to appropriate services, professionals or providers
  • Keeping practical records and liaising with providers where this is within the agreed non-regulated support arrangement

Who Might Benefit?

Education support is for families of children and young people who:

  • Have SEND, disabilities or additional learning needs
  • Are going through EHCP assessment or review
  • Are navigating education transitions (starting school, changing schools, post-school options)
  • Have an Education Budget and need support using it
  • Need help organising information and preparing questions about their child's education-related support needs

Important: This is practical administrative, organisational and signposting support only.

TishAbility does not provide legal advice, SEND tribunal advice, welfare rights advice, professional assessments, formal advocacy, formal recommendations or educational tutoring. Where specialist advice is required, families should seek support from an appropriately qualified adviser, solicitor, advocate, educational psychologist or SEND specialist.
