Who We Are

TishAbility is a UK Community Interest Company providing flexible, non-regulated, relationship-based support for children, young people, adults and families with additional support needs. We work across home, community, education-related and partner settings to support life skills, communication, participation, sensory and wellbeing access, access to therapeutic and wellbeing activities, Direct Payment implementation, Personal Health Budget implementation, Education Budget coordination and workforce organisation.

Our work is particularly suited to people and families where standard services are difficult to access, where support requires trusted relationships, or where a package needs practical coordination to become sustainable. We work alongside regulated providers and statutory services, not as a replacement but as a complement to them.

Our Services

We provide a comprehensive range of non-regulated support services including:

  • Community access and social participation support
  • Communication and AAC support
  • Life skills development and practical independence
  • Therapeutic, sensory and wellbeing support
  • Supported short breaks that support family flexibility, wellbeing and meaningful participation
  • SEND, EHCP and education support for families
  • Budget and Direct Payment support and coordination
  • HR, admin and workforce coordination

Scope & Clarity

We are transparent about what we do and don't provide. Our services are:

  • Non-regulated: We do not provide regulated personal care, nursing care, clinical treatment or other regulated healthcare activities
  • Flexible: Support is tailored to individual and family needs, adaptable to local commissioning arrangements
  • Partnership-based: We work alongside families, professionals, regulated providers and other services
  • Quality-focused: We operate with clear safeguarding, quality and governance frameworks

Why Commission TishAbility

Fills Service Gaps

We provide flexible, non-regulated support that complements regulated providers and fills gaps in current local provision.

Responsive & Adaptable

We can adapt quickly to local needs, work flexibly within commissioning arrangements, and respond to changing demands.

Person-Centred Approach

Our genuinely person-centred approach means services are designed around individual needs and preferences, not service convenience.

Value for Money

As a Community Interest Company, our purpose is service delivery, not profit. Resources go directly to support provision.

Coordinated Delivery

We coordinate support across multiple providers and professionals to ensure joined-up, integrated service delivery.

Clear Governance

We operate with robust safeguarding, quality assurance and governance frameworks aligned to regulatory expectations.

How We Work With Commissioners & Partners

TishAbility can work with commissioners, local authorities, NHS and ICB professionals, schools, families and partner organisations where non-regulated support is required to make agreed outcomes practical in everyday life.

Our offer is particularly useful where a person's support requires trusted relationships, communication-aware practice, sensory-aware support, community access, life skills development, practical coordination, support worker coordination or implementation of professional recommendations.

We work flexibly and can support through various arrangements including direct contracts, partnership agreements, commissioner enquiries, outcome-focused support, practical implementation, non-regulated support delivery, and family and professional partnerships.

Quality & Accountability

We are committed to quality and accountability:

  • Robust safeguarding policies and staff vetting (DBS, references)
  • Quality monitoring and regular audits
  • Complaints procedures and service user feedback mechanisms
  • Staff training in relevant areas (safeguarding, communication, person-centred practice)
  • Data protection and privacy compliance (GDPR)
  • Transparent reporting to commissioners and service users
